It has come to my attention that my article “The Marxist Punjabi Movement: Language and Literary Radicalism in Pakistan” (published in Pakistan Monthly Review, November 2022) contains a few factual errors that I would like to correct for the record:
Maqsood Saqib was not the editor of the 1970s literary magazine Ruth Lekha. Ruth Lekha was an independent, student-run magazine that was not associated with the Mazdoor Kissan Party in any direct way. As a student at Punjab University, Saqib contributed a short story to the magazine. This information has been brought to my attention by Maqsood Saqib himself.
